Who We Are
Our organization is the official arm of the Democratic Party in Washington’s 40th Legislative District, comprising Mount Vernon, Bellingham, Anacortes, the San Juan islands, and everywhere in between. We strive to empower the voices of our community at every level of government by recruiting candidates representative of our local values, organizing with our neighbors to get them elected, and promoting communication between those elected and their constituents.

40th Democrats 2025 Updated Endorsements
The 40th LD Dems Executive Board met to evaluate its count method for the August endorsement meeting. After careful consideration and taking into account consultation and feedback from sister organizations, campaigns, and members, the executive board voted unanimously to shift its tallying from the outcome-based method described on Monday night to a candidate-based method. In other words, the candidates were delinked from each other and treated independently when counting votes. (Click for more.)
